Yep! Best to give them a light spray with canola oil or similar :) Only time you don't need to oil is when you're using paper cases on a tray or you've lined a tin with them.

It's a soft plastic, so even if the residue is a bit hard to get off the silicone afterwards, a 5 minute soak in some warm water will soften it up to easily clean off, otherwise really easy to clean!

Thanks Monnie!
I can't wait to use them now. I have another friends baby shower the following week and she's having a girl so I finally get to use the pink ones! I'm guessing they're not too hard to clean afterwards and the cupcakes don't stick too badly to the silicone? Perhaps I should spray them with some spray on oil stuff?

Yeah! They can withstand high temperatures up to 260 degrees (500F) which seems strange as we see it as plastic! But yeah it does fine in the oven. In the beginning I was a bit hesitant about using them for anything!
Cupcakes are only baked at 160 so they don't even run the risk of melting. :)

Hi Monnie,

I bought that stand from Target too! Isn't it great. I am throwing my sister a high tea baby shower next weekend and can't wait to use it, only I'll have to find some blue cases because she's having a boy and it only came with pink cases.

I have a question and you seem to be the cupcake pro... I have never used/seen silicone cases before and as stupid as this sounds, how does it work? Can you actually put them in the oven? I thought they'd melt? *confused*

Monnie
Congratulations on your great website and show entry winnings :)
I have been looking though your site and flickr images to get some inspiration for making some thank you cupcakes with my daughter for the work experience she has done for past 6 months.
