I went up to Tea Tree Plaza today and picked up some new things to add to my kitchen. Firstly we stopped at the General Trader so I could get..

A large plastic piping nozzle (star)

Small Pyrex measuring cup, with tablespoon and teaspoon measurements as well as ml on the side

Cookie cutters! (the use for this will be revealed)

And then with a stop in at Target, picked up this cupcake stand, bringing the total I own to just two.
With the cupcake stand I got I also got 18 silicon cases, and I already have some that I haven’t even used yet. Sooo.. I’m giving six away. Two blue, two green and two pink. They haven’t been used and are dishwasher safe and all that jazz. To enter the giveaway, you must comment on this post (one comment per person please) and live in Australia. I will randomly draw a winner on October 31st and send them to you – freeeee!
Thanks to everyone that commented about the Oreo cupcakes, I actually made way too much cream and put it back in the fridge, and we got to eat it yesterday with some chocolate cake. Delicious! And good luck in the giveaway.

/ October 8, 2009These accessories are making me hungry! Love the cupcake stand, that is true modern art. Not fussed about the give-away, my wife has enough kitchen accessories to re-roof the house in plastic!

/ October 8, 2009@ladychocolate13 says the new cake stand looks cool and I agree.
P.S. We have cupcake pans so give them to someone else.

/ October 8, 2009I totally need new frosting tools. I love general trader. I purchased the best cupcake cookbook from there! How much was the stand? You’re making me want to buy stuff.

/ October 11, 2009I can’t win them because I’m not in Australia – dang. They make great butter molds, crayon molds, and they’re the perfect size for meatloaf cupcakes (with mashed potato frosting, of course).

/ October 12, 2009Hey I love your blog! I just found you through Charlie on Facebook…My, that star nozzles looks like, er something else when it’s shot from such an angle!! I have to say I’m in awe of your dedication to cupcake decorating. And of course, of the results. Those 6 would nuzzle up cosily to my existing (matching) set, I have to say (which are never enough, as I always double my mixture). What a lovely offer to fellow-bakers.

/ November 15, 2009Hi Monnie,
I bought that stand from Target too! Isn’t it great. I am throwing my sister a high tea baby shower next weekend and can’t wait to use it, only I’ll have to find some blue cases because she’s having a boy and it only came with pink cases.
I have a question and you seem to be the cupcake pro… I have never used/seen silicone cases before and as stupid as this sounds, how does it work? Can you actually put them in the oven? I thought they’d melt? *confused*
Monnie
/ November 15, 2009Yeah! They can withstand high temperatures up to 260 degrees (500F) which seems strange as we see it as plastic! But yeah it does fine in the oven. In the beginning I was a bit hesitant about using them for anything!
Cupcakes are only baked at 160 so they don’t even run the risk of melting.
Cassandra
/ November 16, 2009Thanks Monnie!
I can’t wait to use them now. I have another friends baby shower the following week and she’s having a girl so I finally get to use the pink ones! I’m guessing they’re not too hard to clean afterwards and the cupcakes don’t stick too badly to the silicone? Perhaps I should spray them with some spray on oil stuff?
Monnie
/ November 16, 2009Yep! Best to give them a light spray with canola oil or similar
Only time you don’t need to oil is when you’re using paper cases on a tray or you’ve lined a tin with them.
It’s a soft plastic, so even if the residue is a bit hard to get off the silicone afterwards, a 5 minute soak in some warm water will soften it up to easily clean off, otherwise really easy to clean!
